With over 10 million copies sold, Zipper Interactive's "SOCOM" franchise defines online gaming on the PlayStation® platform. Its first title, "SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs", was also the first online game for the PlayStation®2 and featured groundbreaking multiplayer and intense single-player action.
With the "SOCOM" series, the studio was the first to truly exploit the online potential of PlayStation®2, pioneering the use of the PlayStation®2 online adapter, and also a USB headset, enabling the player to give spoken commands as an integral part of the gameplay.
While best known for the "SOCOM" series, Zipper has also created multiple hit game titles including "Mechwarrior 3", "Crimson Skies", and others, illustrating its world-class expertise across game design, graphics, engineering and online multiplayer technology. On PLAYSTATION®3, its ambitious "MAG" project utilizes new server architecture to deliver multiplayer gaming on an unprecedented scale.
Based in Redmond, WA, Zipper Interactive's offices are 20 minutes away from downtown Seattle and Bellevue, with easy access to the main freeways. The outdoor life of Washington State is close at hand, with the Lake Sammamish River bike trail right outside the front door.
The studio itself has an indoor basketball gym, exercise room, and state of the art conference and media rooms.
